J. Francisco Morales

J. Francisco Morales (Costarican, Ph.D., University of Bayreuth, Germany) has published more than 300 papers in international peer-reviewed journals, is the author of 8 field guides, and a scientific editor of several books. He is a world-renowned expert on the Apocynaceae family (neotropicis), the Flora of Costa Rica, and the Mesoamerican Flora, and he has contributed to several Flora projects in Latina America (Mexico, Mesoamerica, Costa Rica, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago). Francisco currently leads or participates in taxonomic, phylogenetic, and genomic studies on the systematics of Apocynaceae, Araliaceae, and Bromeliaceae in the Neotropics. Actually, he is the Curator of the National Herbarium of Trinidad and Tobago and a Senior Lecturer in Plant Sciences at the University of the West Indies.
